Twenty years of experience as a conductor of works spanning the classics, the romantic period, and the 20th century. Includes symphony and chamber music, operas, and ballets.

• Studies in operatic / orchestral conducting and opera direction at the St.Petersburg
Conservatory(1979-84);Principal teachers: Mariss Jansons, Ilja Musin and Alexander Dmitriev;
BM and MM degrees in opera and orchestral conducting (Diploma with Summe cum laude)
• Doctoral studies at St. Petersburg Conservatory (1984-1986), DMA in conducting
• Postdoctoral studies in conducting at the Vienna Music Academy (1989-1990)
